Getting to Hotel
Driving is the only practical means of getting to the Herington Inn & Suites. On major regional highways sits Herington, a classic American small town at the crossroads of U.S. Highway 77 and U.S. Highway 56, right off this main thoroughfare where the hotel happens to be located makes it extremely easy for road trippers to find as well. The property has a large free secure on-site parking lot—a perfect amenity and, indeed, an essential one for all travelers.
For visitors arriving by air, the options require a significant drive. The nearest regional airport with some commercial service is Salina Regional Airport (SLN), about a 45-minute drive away. The closest major airports are Wichita Dwight D. Eisenhower National Airport (ICT), approximately a 90-minute drive to the south, and Kansas City International Airport (MCI), about a 2.5-hour drive to the northeast. Renting a car at any of these airports is absolutely necessary.
Long-distance bus or passenger train service does not come near Herington. The town lives by the railroad, but passenger service stopped long ago. Personal or rental cars are the only viable methods of travel to get to Herington Inn & Suites and use it for traveling in this beautiful and historic Flint Hills region.
