Area Guide

The Herington Inn & Suites is positioned on the main highway through the edge of town, an area planned for motorist convenience. There is little within reasonable walking distance that is of much practical advantage. A traveler can, within a convenient 5-10 minute walk along the highway frontage road, find a couple of fast-food restaurants and a gas station with a small convenience store attached. This serves a good purpose in that one would not have to drive all the way into town after a long journey on the road for some quick food or basic supplies.

The old town shops and local museum in Herington are not within easy walking distance for most people, taking a 30-minute walk to get there. For those wanting to explore the charm of the downtown area, driving five minutes is the more favorable and only real solution. The hotel’s spot is hence ideal for ones having a car.

The Herington Lake Park is the town’s main natural attraction but is also t few miles out and must be driven to. There are no scenic walking paths or parks in the immediate area around the hotel. Thus the hotel should be looked upon by its guests as a comfortable and well-equipped base from which to go out, be it into town or into the country around, by car.
